We hit every state in New England but Rhode Island

So last Friday we set off on our to Northern New England. We were going to Orford, NH for the first two nights and then Norway , ME for the next four. We hit the rode just after 4 pm. I forgot my sneakers, so we had to swing home after picking up M from her last day at Holiday Hill. I have an inability to leave home without having to return to the house at least once if not 3 or more times. It's a curse which causes problems with estimating departure times and has led to a number of small "married people" squabbles.
The route was pretty straight forward mostly I-91 through CT, MA, and VT.

We decided to stop and eat after we'd made it past Springfield, MA but were even able to delay that stop a bit further. We made the requisite roadtrip McDonald's stop. And then the three pee stops that have to be made after McDonald's when you travel with small children.



Originally when we'd made our plans to head up for the weekend, my friend Cindy her husband Phil were going to camp at a friends and invited us to camp as well. Well, do to some new circumstances their plans changed and Cindy was not going to be in NH at all and Phil was going to be at a hotel. We stuck with our plan because well, economics are economics and decided to camp at the Lovejoys even though we'd never met them and had only exchanged a few emails. That was a good choice. We spent our first evening with Cari and Carl Lovejoy and their extended family. They welcomed us with open arms and even beer.

The Prouty ride which was the event which brought us to NH in the first place was amazing. I switched from riding a 25 mile ride to a 50 mile one without regret. Biking is much different from running, as you get to snack during the event. That's just awesome.


Team Forest Moon ended up raising over $15,000 for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and earning a $5000 grant for Forest Moon.
