Misquamicut Beach with Bob

So Bob and I(RJ Weston) decide to make a yearly trek to the beach (we went once in 16 years). Bob said they used to go the back way (route 138 through Hope Valley)) when he was younger (must have been before horse and carts I said) so away we went. We should have brought a tent and more food because it seemed like a week before we hit Rhode Island. About 4 hours later we get to the beach. We set the towels down, went swimming and set up the volleyball net about 50 yards from 20 college guys playing their own game. They were definitely taller, younger, faster. So after 30 minutes of warming up we go ask them if they wanted to play. They said Ok. We go on one side, and about 6 of them start coming over onto our side of the court.Bob goes "No, no, no. It's just me and him against however many you want to put on THAT side of the net." A look of confusion, disdain, and the horrible knowldedge that Jerry Garcia was about to wax their board and send them down the triple diamond slope came over them. One of the college boys said that it would not be fair.Bob concurred. The last time Bob sent it down the line was even more enjoyable then the first. We beat 10 of them once, 8 of them at least 6 times, and once we shut out 4 or 5 of them. They were beaten so bad that If they were rugs, they would have went home hermetically sealed. Definietly a top 10 day in my life. Our only problem was trying not to laugh too much. We both agreed to take Rt. 32 home.
